WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a Plant Manager - Crew B who embodies both manufacturing expertise and a builder mentality. This role requires leading the factory from its early stages through growth, ensuring safe, high-quality operations while balancing speed and quality.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

• Own full responsibility for plant operations, from daily execution to strategic planning.
• Lead and develop cross-functional teams across various departments.
• Create and refine operating systems, routines, and standards.
• Drive performance metrics including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
• Partner with Engineering and Program teams for new product introductions and production ramps.
• Build a strong safety culture and ensure compliance.
• Solve problems directly on-site, conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Hire, develop, and grow leaders and teams capable of scaling with the business.
• Manage plant budgets, capital investments, and resource prioritization.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork.
• Contribute to overall manufacturing and business strategy as a key member of the leadership team.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 15+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including senior plant or operations leadership.
• Experience in automotive, EV, battery, or other high-mix/high-growth manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to build teams, processes, and structures in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
• A strong foundation in Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence, coupled with practical problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable balancing speed, cost, quality, and long-term sustainability.
• Resilience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for overcoming challenges in a startup environment.

SALARY RANGE:

The compensation for this position is within the range Slate reasonably expects to pay for the role, considering various factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, work location, and other relevant business and organizational factors. The base pay range (annual) is $185,293.24 - $308,822.06 USD.
