Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure company safety regulations and policies are followed.
- Ensure employees have and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Notify the Area Production Manager and the Safety Manager of any safety issues.
- Oversee all plant operations and personnel.
- Train, develop, and motivate employees.
- Respond to employee concerns and complaints.
- Maintain accurate personnel records.
- Hold regular meetings to review safety issues, provide information, and train employees.
- Inspect and grease plant equipment, ensuring proper operation.
- Schedule and assist with preventative maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Manage inventory levels and prepare accurate reports.
- Schedule production to meet customer demands and address customer issues.
- Take samples and perform tests, completing required documentation.
- Inform Technical Services of quality problems.
- Ensure proper accident reporting and notify relevant departments.
- Respond to emergencies and lead evacuations if necessary.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and notify management of issues.
- Handle resident complaints and forward unresolved issues to appropriate managers.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Work environment: Indoors/office and outdoors/field; exposure to dust, fumes, offensive smells, chemicals, noise, and mechanical parts.
- Physical demands: Lift up to 94 lbs., repetitively lift 50 lbs., carry 50 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., pinch/grip 25 lbs.; reach overhead and away from body; minimal kneeling, squatting, and climbing; sit, stand, and walk for 3, 4, and 3 hours respectively.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience: 4 years in the concrete or masonry industry; prior managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Written and verbal communication, basic math, computer proficiency, ability to compute material calculations, excellent interpersonal skills, confidentiality, organization, problem-solving, CPR/First Aid certification.
- Education: High school degree preferred; college/undergraduate degree in relevant field preferred; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
