Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the manufacturing activities of the plant through first-line supervisors/managers.
- Responsible for the safety, people, quality, cost, and product delivery objectives of the plant.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives in alignment with the company goals and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to the production organization.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Provide leadership, direction, and training to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
- Work closely with other departments such as Maintenance, Finance, Safety, CI, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Human Resources.
- Continuously evaluate manufacturing capabilities and foster an environment of continuous improvement with the goal of meeting or exceeding defined targets (strategic/financial/operational).
- Facilitate root-cause problem-solving techniques to drive out losses and reduce waste.
- Responsible for compliance with company policies, GMPs, safety standards, and food safety practices.
- Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to optimize value/non-value-added activities.
- Promote an open-door and team-building environment.
- Maintain high visibility on the production floor.
- Lead routine manufacturing activities, including day-to-day scheduling and raw materials/consumables management.
- Assist with the authoring and implementation of manufacturing procedures and batch records.
- Develop and implement Aseptic production plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve operational targets, including production volumes, cost control, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards in an Aseptic environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential/Skills Needed
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced with supervising manufacturing managers from various departments.
- Food and beverage manufacturing or Aseptic management background preferred.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience with hiring, training, supervising, and terminating employees, including developing strong production teams, and supporting employee retention.
- Good verbal and written communication abilities and abilities to communicate well with all departments.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with a diverse group of internal and external people, including staff, customers, co-workers, and all others involved in the manufacturing process.
- Experience in creating a cohesive team.
- Experience working within a budget and being accountable for company equipment, facilities, and other material assets.
- Able to make decisions, goal-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and able to solve multi-dimensional problems.
- English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessity to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or an Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, is preferred.
- Food and Beverage manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in the high-speed manufacturing industry is required.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methodologies is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of production management, operations, risk management, and food safety regulations is preferred.
