About the role
As a Plant Manager, you will be a key player in shaping a supportive and engaging work environment for the Faison, NC, plant, a manufacturer of quality pickles. As the Plant Manager, your role will have complete ownership and accountability for overall plant operations with a desire to win.
Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and leadership to team members in the areas of employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost, and equipment reliability to elevate the team’s performance.
- Promote a safety culture and ensure adherence to all health and safety policies/protocols.
- Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of the operations strategy in line with the overall operational objectives to achieve safety, quality and performance improvement and ensure achievement of manufacturing goals.
- Lead the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost, quality, food safety and service.
- Utilize available data including OEE, line speed target, and efficiency and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime, and reliability.
- Cook up manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plant-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of leadership experience in a production or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience leading in a union environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control procedures, and inventory management.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts.
Skills
