Plant Manager

Responsibilities

• Plans and monitors both short and long-term budgets to ensure the plant meets its financial commitments.
• Celebrates the success of the team and the company’s mission.
• Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Implements cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
• Manages capital asset maintenance.
• Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Controls and minimizes overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
• Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replaces or makes adjustments as necessary.
• Provides leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives in a safe manner.
• Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
• Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
• Ensures all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met.

Qualifications

• A minimum of eight (8) years of plant or general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing in a union environment.
• Eight years of experience leading salaried employees.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience with: Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5-S, Kanban, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Automotive industry experience.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Leverage Lean Manufacturing certification.
