Responsibilities
- Plans and monitors both short and long-term budgets to ensure the plant meets its financial commitments.
- Celebrates the success of the team and the company’s mission.
- Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Implements cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Manages capital asset maintenance.
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Controls and minimizes overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replaces or makes adjustments as necessary.
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives in a safe manner.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Ensures all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met.
Qualifications
- A minimum of eight (8) years of plant or general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing in a union environment.
- Eight years of experience leading salaried employees.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience with: Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5-S, Kanban, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Automotive industry experience.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Leverage Lean Manufacturing certification.
