Plant Manager
About the role
The Plant Manager position at Georgia Pacific's Hosford Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility in Hosford, FL, is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-efficiency, technologically advanced plant. Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment to the business vision and drive a consistently high level of performance in workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Lead overall operation of the facility, from raw material receipt to finished OSB shipment.
- Drive company expectations for production scheduling, inventory control, operating rate, fiber recovery, and facility financial performance.
- Demonstrate consistent and proactive cost management by regularly reviewing facility expenses and holding department leaders accountable.
- Create a culture that drives ownership and focuses on eliminating waste.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies and state, federal, and local laws.
- Maintain productive relationships with peers in support capabilities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive operational leadership.
- Demonstrated track record in leading profitable change and holding the organization accountable.
- Experience and understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
- Experience building high-performing teams.
- Experience developing talent development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Wood Science.
- Progressive leadership experience in a wood products facility in one or more of the following positions: Plant Manager, Production Manager, Plant Superintendent, Reliability or Maintenance Manager, or in an equivalent leadership role.
- Continuous Improvement project management experience.
- Experience within Wood Products Industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Wood Science.
- Progressive leadership experience in a wood products facility in one or more of the following positions: Plant Manager, Production Manager, Plant Superintendent, Reliability or Maintenance Manager, or in an equivalent leadership role.
