We’re looking for a candidate who can work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and construct our plant infrastructure.

About the role

You’ll build and maintain aerial and buried coax, copper, and fiber-optic cables following Armstrong’s construction practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Construct, maintain, and transfer aerial and underground HFC, FTTH, and telephone plant
Climb poles and ladders; work aloft using climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts
Operate company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, fork lifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machines
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Read and interpret network design prints
Accurately maintain daily log sheets and inventory paperwork
Apply NEC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices
Follow all Armstrong safety policies
Maintain vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards
Perform other assigned tasks

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to learn
Physical ability to climb, lift, and carry a minimum of 75 lbs
Physical fitness to meet weight limits for ladders and lifts and handle labor-intensive demands
Ability to follow verbal and written directions and work rapidly under time pressure
Sound judgment and ethical decision-making skills
Availability to work after business hours as required (e.g., storm damage)
Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance on a rotating schedule
