Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, such as conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
• Perform structural repairs, hard facing, and replace heavy wear-parts (like crusher liners and shaker screens) using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations, execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work area.
• Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas during operation to identify anomalies by sight or sound and perform minor adjustments.
• Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.

Technical Expertise

• Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
• Able to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience: Experience in maintenance, preferably within the around heavy equipment and machines.
• Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Basic understanding of workplace safety and the ability to follow safety procedures; general awareness of tools and equipment used on-site; willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals; exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision of experienced mechanic.

Other Requirements

• Entry level mechanic, qualified to perform general utility work and light maintenance under supervision of experienced mechanic.
• Knowledge of using a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
• Safety and compliance with MSHA procedures and requirements.
• A valid driver's license.
