About the Role

The Plant IV Curing Setup Tech will set up and make mold changes for Passenger Truck Tire Curing Presses, with responsibilities including removal and installation of all bladders, cleaning and drilling venting in molds, and making minor adjustments to presses as needed. This role also assists with spraying and loading of Passenger Tire Presses as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Make mold and bladder changes, install recipes, build and tear down bladders, drill molds, clean molds in press, and maintain data input
  • Make minor mechanical adjustments and emergency repairs
  • Chase Scrap, perform first tire check and first bag check, conduct squeeze audits, cure cycle audits, and cure temperature audits, and manage serial changes in molds
  • Follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies
  • Operate a Forklift (must be certified through the Safety Department)
  • Effectively communicate with other setup techs, curing supervision, curing press operators, and supplying departments
  • Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, aligned, and orderly
  • Perform other duties as directed by the PLT Curing Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, or Department Manager
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience OR 2 years mechanical experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Environment Safety is our highest priority; safety procedures and guidelines must be always adhered to, including safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes
  • New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends
  • Non-climate controlled environment with exposure to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise
  • Majority of work completed in a high heat environment
  • Role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery (comprehensive training provided)

Pay

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
