Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform applications to address fertility, weed management, and insect management of turf on client’s properties
- Able to identify and diagnose insect, disease, and cultural issues in the field
- Adhere to best Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
- Communicate turf needs on specific properties to Account Managers/Branch Manager
- Routine care and regular calibration of spray truck equipment to ensure accurate applications
- Be adept at following EPA labels and correctly mixing spray tanks for necessary applications each day
- Enter detailed notes regarding each application including record of material usage into handheld device
- Assist with Plant Health Care applications and/or Tick/Mosquito Control as necessary
- Follow a route to efficiently visit multiple properties each day and effectively complete tasks at each property
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must possess valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must possess current MA Pesticide License or ability to obtain it prior to employment
- Willingness to work some Saturdays as workload and weather during busiest times of year may dictate
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay motivated and work efficiently, often as a one-person crew
- Field experience in comparable position is much preferred
- Degree relevant to the field (turf management, plant pathology, etc) is preferred
- A strong passion for and dedication to enhancing the properties we service
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand and walk long distances
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Job Type
Full-time, seasonal with the option to work during snow operations
