Plant/Facilities Engineering Manager
About the role
The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Manager leads all Manufacturing Engineering for Engine programs. This role guides the Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model and adaptation programs. Responsibilities include assessing process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies, and developing or improving process and equipment standards. The ME Manager also leads the implementation of World Class Technology (WCT) methodology, supporting deployment of advanced WCT tools.
The position supports the Engine Manufacturing Plant in Kokomo, Indiana, while maintaining relationships with Engine ME counterparts in Saltillo, Mexico and supporting Global COC initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Engineering team in developing and launching processes for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies.
- Develop and improve process and equipment standards.
- Implement World Class Technology (WCT) methodology and deploy advanced WCT tools.
- Support the Engine Manufacturing Plant in Kokomo, Indiana.
- Maintain relationships with Engine ME counterparts in Saltillo, Mexico.
- Support Global COC initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience.
- Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong oral, written, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to implement WCT principles.
- Ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge in the implementation of Safety, PM, and Launch Domain.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods and tools.
- Strong skills in resolving complex issues affecting overall operations.
- Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning (a plus).
