Plant Engineer

About the role

You optimize performance of Plastipak’s industrial systems, including mechanical, electrical and facilities. You support production operations by leading site projects, troubleshooting equipment and driving continuous improvement to increase system efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support production goals by ensuring the operational integrity of equipment and systems, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and project management.
  • Develop project proposals and lead project workflow to ensure projects delivery achieves time, quality & budget goals.
  • Partner cross-functionally with customers, vendors, and technicians.
  • Support troubleshooting and repairs, serving as an emergency contact in our 24/7 facility.
  • Uphold and contribute to operational best practices, including safety, quality and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and improving industrial systems, in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including electrical & mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation, being on-call as needed.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

24/7 operation, with occasional on-call responsibilities.
