Plant Engineer
About the role
Johns Manville is seeking a Plant Engineer at the Penbryn, NJ plant. The position reports to the Plant Manager and involves managing the Asset Care & Reliability (AC&R) Program, overseeing capital projects, and supporting productivity improvements.
Responsibilities
- Complete safety requirements as assigned
- Hold direct reports accountable for completing assignments
- Manage the Asset Care & Reliability (AC&R) Program for continual improvements to maintenance
- Manage plant-driven capital projects
- Develop and manage long-term Capex programs
- Support, develop, and drive productivity improvements
- Manage and control plant energy program
- Oversee the purchasing of MRO materials
- Manage, control, and report spend for plant maintenance budget
- Oversee and coordinate Information Technology activities
- Manage a staff of salary employees; set direction and deploy resources
- Responsible for performance evaluations, performance coaching, hiring, on-boarding, training, and terminating
- On-call and frequently contacted during upset conditions
- Administer and apply plant and corporate policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' maintenance/plant/project engineering experience and 5 years of work experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Working knowledge/understanding of ERP Systems
- Thorough knowledge of environmental and safety regulations
- Strong leadership skills
- Manages a staff of 3 salary/40 hourly union employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Prioritizes problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Understands business principles and works independently and in a team environment
- Interfaces at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Qualifications
- Minimal travel required (0 -- 10 days per year)
- May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to an including 50 pounds
Skills
- Working knowledge/understanding of SAP Plant Maintenance Module, SAP Project Systems Module, and SAP Procure to Pay Module (preferred)

Pay
$129,600.00 - $178,200.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Schedule
This position is on-call and is contacted frequently during upset conditions.
