Responsibilities
- Trains and assists in the operation of plant machinery and equipment
- Calibrates equipment, checks furnace operating conditions, monitors glass levels, and inspects samples for defects
- Makes minor adjustments and repairs and performs preventive maintenance functions as directed
- Works from complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop and vendor manuals, layouts, and other specifications
- Performs analysis and repair work in overhead structures, in close quarters, and in hot areas
- Works in a safe manner and in a team environment
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics and/or mechanical fields required
- Experience with AC/DC power distribution, high/low voltage applications, servo systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical devices
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a safe manner and in a team environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to read electrical/electronic diagrams/drawings, and an understanding of computers and related equipment is required
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines, in close quarters and hot areas performing analysis and repair work
