The Role
The Plant Director oversees all plant operations, including blending, production, and on-line quality, to maximize resources and achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, and economic goals. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze and manage plant performance indicators, such as safety, line efficiencies, budget variance, and product quality measures.
- Hire, evaluate, and develop subordinates; provide opportunities for initiative and judgment.
- Communicate with local and corporate staff, recommend and implement operational improvements, and participate in plant and corporate projects.
Requirements
Essential requirements include:
- A BS/BA in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in management/supervisory roles in manufacturing plants within the food/beverage industry.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety regulations and familiarity with FDA/USDA guidelines.
- Experience managing in both union and non-union production environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and lead effectively.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations and strong facilitation/training skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
