Plant Custodian
About the Role
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site to maximize safety, quality, and OEE. The Trainer or Supervisor fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning restrooms, break room, locker room, machine areas, and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Cleaning the exterior areas of the building, including windows (interior), walkways, and emptying trash containers and smoking receptacles, and truck bays per sanitation schedule.
- Sweeping and scrubbing the warehouse floors and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Wiping down racks, guard rails, and walls in the warehouse and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Additional duties as assigned; overtime as needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and tour-ready facility.
- Be attentive to the details.
- Manage cleaning supplies inventory and consumables.
- Training on coming peers when necessary.
- Take the initiative to complete daily tasks as well as tasks scheduled on a less-than-daily basis.
- Make independent decisions when needed.
- Complete cleaning logs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D required.
- Ability to work safely and follow Regulatory and Company Policies and Guidelines.
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning or custodial work preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and multitask.
- Positive attitude, cooperative nature, and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills to interact with coworkers and supervisors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift weight unassisted (minimum 25 pounds).
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
