Plant Controls Engineer (Night Shift)
About the Role
As a Controls Engineer at Avancez Assembly, you will apply your knowledge of automated assembly systems and industrial controls to maintain, develop, and improve automation controls systems. Your role will focus on increasing productivity and efficiency while meeting facility and customer needs through creative problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain checklists and review/input data into PLC logs
- Review shift reports and participate in/prepare for managerial meetings
- Program and troubleshoot automation controls systems
- Collaborate across facilities and departments
- Utilize team member feedback to find solutions to critical issues
- Maintain and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and HMI performance
- Evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies
- Use tools to identify root causes of issues
- Lead continuous improvement projects
- Perform periodic audits to improve equipment uptime
- Identify and implement error-proofing requirements in the production process
- Complete incident reporting and SOT (Start of Tour) walks
- Follow health and safety processes with proactive and preventative safety behavior
- Create and maintain documentation and reports
- Stay updated on controls technology and comply with required training
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in industry and related equipment
- English proficiency
- Minimum travel required
Skills
- Experience with Allen Bradley (Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7), C++, C#, and ladder logic
- Ability to read drawings
- Advanced knowledge of electronic devices
- Expertise in Fanuc Roberts programming
- Knowledge of communication protocols
- Advanced computer troubleshooting experience
