Plant Controller/ Site Director of Finance ( Manufacturing )

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor, is adding a hands-on Site Controller / Plant Director of Finance to their team due to growth. This role requires experience from a manufacturing plant facility and a strong understanding of process improvements in that environment.

About the role

This position ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. The role oversees accounts payable, payroll, monthly financial closes, and report preparation in support of financial statements. Strategic controls and process improvement experience are critical.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, and report preparation
• Establish KPIs
• Budget, forecast, and plan inventory maximization
• Improve efficiencies and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Help with implementation of ERP software
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Oversee budgeting processes
• Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in the chart of accounts, accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements, and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
• Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
• Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
• Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
• Manage a small team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Manufacturing environment expertise (a must) or public accounting experience with manufacturing/pharmaceutical clients
• Government contract experience
• CPA (ideal)
• Public accounting experience with career progression in scaling companies
