About the role
The Plant Controller will lead financial activities at a manufacturing site generating $100M+ in annual revenue.
Responsibilities
- Lead all site financial activities including month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Provide insightful analysis of operational and financial performance, including variance analysis and management commentary.
- Partner with manufacturing, operations, programme management, and site leadership teams to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee cost accounting activities including standard costing, manufacturing variances, inventory accounting, cost roll-ups, and productivity analysis.
- Develop and enhance reporting around work-in-progress (WIP), percentage-of-completion accounting, and contract profitability.
- Support inventory management initiatives, including analysis of purchase price variance (PPV) and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Drive process improvements that strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and decision-making.
- Lead site budgeting and capital expenditure planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate financial policies.
- Support external audits and regulatory reviews as required.
- Provide leadership and mentorship across the broader site finance function while partnering with accounting and shared services teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in manufacturing related accounting.
- Strong cost-accounting experience - non-negotiable.
- Experience supporting standard costing environments and analysing manufacturing variances.
- Understanding of WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting methodologies etc.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse complex operational and financial data.
- Prominent ability to influence senior leaders and communicate financial information to non-finance audiences.
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of driving performance improvements.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Base salary range of $180,000 to $190,000, dependent upon experience.
- 20% annual bonus - performance related.
