Plant Controller - Glendale, AZ

The Plant Controller will be a critical Accounting & Finance role within the plant leadership team at our brewery in Glendale, Arizona. This position provides financial leadership at the facility, ensuring a well-controlled environment for operations. In partnership with the Glendale plant team and the Chicago corporate team, the Plant Controller will lead standard product cost development, month-end close activities, budgeting and forecasting processes, and ERP/General Ledger control assurance. The role also includes overseeing plant TTB compliance processes and providing financial support for key operational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support: Partner with plant operations to ensure accuracy of production records, develop labor costing models, drive productivity projects, and provide financial analysis for ad hoc plant and corporate initiatives
• Process Management and Controls: Oversee plant TTB compliance, develop and maintain financial and operational controls, and manage audit control testing protocols
• Month-End Close: Review P&L accounts, provide insights on variances vs. budget/forecast/prior year, ensure accuracy of inventory and sub-ledger transactions, develop management reporting, and lead year-end financial activities
• Budget and Forecast: Lead standard cost development and variance planning for annual budget and periodic forecasts, develop cause-of-change analytics, and manage standard costs for WIP and finished goods
• Team and Leadership Functions: Develop and train team members, assess resourcing needs, and build/update resource contingency plans

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
• Cost accounting and standard product costing experience with complex bills of materials
• Experience in the CPG industry, particularly food and beverage (alcohol industry highly preferred)
• Experience building labor costing models
• Demonstrated expertise using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
