Plant Controller
About the role
Virbac Animal Health is seeking a Plant Controller for their Finance Team. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the accounting of the results of industrial operations activities, including reporting of the operational results and ensuring adequate internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor industrial operations activity through financial and operational reporting, evaluating and analyzing performance, and providing reliable decision-making tools.
- Optimize production costs by supporting production management in quantifying and analyzing production measures.
- Oversee inventory valuation, prepare monthly inventory reserve analysis, and validate internal controls.
- Oversee physical inventory count process, implementing and maintaining a perpetual inventory count process meeting internal and audit requirements.
- Forecast and model activity levels, considering financial, technical, planning, and production aspects.
- Provide reporting and analysis of industrial operations activities, including purchasing, planning, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, and investments.
- Analyze manufacturing variance in collaboration with finance and operations, and define production costs for consistency, accuracy, and appropriate tracking.
- Manage and monitor standard cost systems, including refining methodologies, calculating, analyzing, and reporting item costing and manufacturing information, preparing standard cost budgets, validating changes to standards, and accounting for and reporting on variances between actual and standard costs.
- Lead and manage the STL accounting staff, establishing policies and procedures for manufacturing accounting.
- Assist in projects related to information systems and tool implementations.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting required, CPA or CMA preferred.
- At least 8-12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a management capacity.
Skills
- Experience managing standard costing systems in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Inform M3.
- Strong cross-functional communication and partnership skills.
