Plant Controller

Position Summary

We presently have a full-time position for a Plant Controller at our Elkmont, Alabama Manufacturing Plant. This position is an on-site role that reports to the Regional Controller at another location. The hours for the role are to be determined with the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly Account Reconciliations.
• Receive invoices & assist AP matching with payroll to keep expenses up-to-date.
• Prepare existing weekly hours report and scrap reports to help aid plant management.
• Develop new or modify existing reports where appropriate.
• Serve as a backup to the payroll department.
• Investigate variances and recommend corrective action where appropriate.
• Compile and review cost information for the preparation of operating budgets.
• Perform special assignments as instructed.

Qualifications

• Must have a B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Must have prior manufacturing accounting experience.
• Computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office software including advanced Excel (pivot tables, graphs, vlookups, etc).
• 2-4 years cost accounting experience.
