Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive overall policies, procedures, and controls for overall site (in particular, relating to financial controls).
- Ensure financials are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Manage month-end close and financial reporting process.
- Work with external auditors and drive the annual audit process.
- Support shared services team (Accounts Receivable and Payable) as it relates to site-level queries on purchase order (PO) related items, master data management, and billing issues.
- Avoidance of errors in financial reporting and ensure timely, quality, and standardized preparation and sign-off on general ledger (GL) account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate preparation and timely filing of all company business, franchise, sales, property, and other taxes.
- Assist with annual Research & Development (R&D) tax credit process.
- Support the annual budgeting process and forecast cycles including on-going cost accounting processes.
- Crosstrain and support all aspects of the general and cost accounting areas of the company.
- Assume responsibility for the overall accuracy of records of earnings, profits, cash, etc.
- Present monthly deep dive analysis and reporting of the financial statements.
- Carry out general and cost accounting functions with an eye toward discovering flaws or deficiencies and developing improved methods for data handling.
People Leader Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, develop, and mentor the site Controllership team.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage individual performance.
- Organize training and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Update processes and procedures.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are enforced and met.
- Oversee team and individual employee development.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
- 12 years’ progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 10 years’ progressive professional leadership and management experience.
- Professional experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Audit, financial accounting, or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, payroll, standard cost accounting principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and federal & state financial regulations.
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes, simultaneously manage several projects, and identify & develop talent.
- Strong analytical and technical skills to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
- Strong computer systems skills including Microsoft Office Suite software and expert-level Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong professional written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills including the ability to make presentations and facilitate group meetings.
- Analytical, organized, and detail oriented. Able to prioritize tasks, utilize time efficiently, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative to challenge current processes and work with the team to continuously improve.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
