About the role
The Plant Controller plays a crucial role in providing financial oversight and analysis to the Plant General Manager and their direct reports. This position acts as a key business partner, overseeing financial activities, managing capital and maintenance spending, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Provides financial oversight and critical analysis to the Plant General Manager and their direct reports
- Directs all financial activities related to accounting processes, annual planning, periodic spare parts reviews, fixed assets, maintenance activities, and budgeted or unplanned turnarounds
- Manages internal and external audit requirements
- Supports quarterly and annual internal and external audits by providing requested support documentation and analysis
- Prepares the annual budget and contributes to budget forecasting updates throughout the year
- Oversees the preparation of cost statements, accounting statements and reports, and operational reports
- Serves as a key financial reporting resource to Corporate and local management
- Supervises and directs the month end close process
- Ensures accurate Fixed Assets accounting
- Manages local plant Accounts Payable function and analyzes monthly aging reports
- Communicates to Corporate personnel deviations from established policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related
- 10+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing accounting
- CPA/MBA and public accounting experience preferred
- Experience at manufacturing plants with a high level of complexity including a high volume of capital projects, multiple products with an intricate manufacturing process, and supporting multiple departments within a plant
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed; high level of self-motivation with the ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills
- Proficient in PC use within a Windows environment, with an intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP accounting systems desired

Base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
