Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive work orders and coordinate work to fit daily schedule assigned by department director or designee
- Operate and maintain the facilities boiler/chiller systems, and related equipment and control systems to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor boiler operations and make adjustments as needed
- Respond to emergency calls from facility departments requesting immediate assistance for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration problems
- Perform preventive maintenance on related equipment assigned by the director or designee and reports deficiencies
- Maintain necessary stock and tools in order to maintain, repair equipment
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Cook up repairs to boiler/chiller plant and related systems with other departments
- Conduct daily rounds of boiler/chiller plant and related equipment as assigned
- Respond to emergency call-in situations. Report any deficiencies on specific jobs or equipment
- Aid other trades as required
- Aid with facilities emergency events per policy
- Support and review the work of outside vendors
- Maintain mechanicals spaces per Quality Assurance Program
- Document work and keep accurate records of boiler operations and maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems
- Experience with HVAC/R systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Proficiency in maintaining and operating boilers

Education / Certification(s)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years skilled trade or vocational school Boiler Operator License
Experience
- Five years Plant Operator’s experience within commercial, industrial or healthcare setting
Qualifications
- Valid unencumbered Driver’s license
