Position Description
Title: Plant Assistant Operator
Department: Operations
Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Supervisor
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Purpose
Aids in the safe, controlled start-up and operation of machines, engages the feed, observes operations, manages changeovers, inspects and measures completed pieces, monitors and adjusts controls, maintains equipment through preventative maintenance, records quality and production metrics, and performs tasks as requested.
Essential Skills And Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- 2+ years in manufacturing environment preferred.
- General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required.
- Ability to regularly lift large lightweight items above head and lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to work in limited workspace area on consistent basis.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
