Assistant Plant Operator
About the role
The Assistant Process Operator position is available in the Chemical Technologies group of ChampionX, located in Odessa, TX. This role will join the production team in the Odessa plant and will involve learning and progressing through all operational skills required to blend, react, and package products.
Responsibilities
- Complete work functions within production operations on a daily basis.
- Responsible for quality blending of finished products and the bulk, drum, and packaging of products.
- Perform general forklift duties.
- Core responsibility for blending and packaging of products requires the use of mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, mixing equipment, and automation control systems.
- Completion and compliance of all safety initiatives and certification requirements including near miss and incident reporting.
- Accountable for data entry of production tickets, good receipts, and shipping documentation.
- Daily inspection of work area and monthly document reporting.
- Daily housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Aid with physical inventory counts and processes.
- Compliance with all applicable ISO requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Physically able to lift 60 pounds, climb stairs or a ladder, and have agility for squatting and bending (Agility Tests 1, 2a & 2b).
- Medically qualified to wear a respirator.
- Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role.
Qualifications
- Two years of process technology degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year's experience as an operator in a batch or specialty chemicals manufacturing plant.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Forklift operation certified.
- 24-hour Hazwoper certification.
Skills
Team player with ability to perform physical work. Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate core programs.
