Plant Accountant

About the Role

The Plant Accountant will manage and provide cost-related tasks to support the concrete plants, serving as the go-to person for cost accounting and related responsibilities. This role reports to the Plant Accounting Manager and involves discretion, independent judgment, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vendor set-up and complete requested credit references
• Review daily receiving logs and reconcile related AP invoices to quantity received and prices quoted
• Communicate directly with vendors to resolve billing issues and track credit/re-bills as applicable
• Perform month-end accounting activities, including ensuring all material and labor costs are recorded and analyzing variances
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the Plant Accounting Manager

Requirements

• 4-year business or technical degree plus a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
• Working knowledge of general office procedures and ability to organize and coordinate group work efforts
• Proficient research, supervisory, and communication skills
• Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in interpreting and applying company policies and procedures

A note on the role: While some tasks are administrative, this is not a clerical or data-entry position. We seek someone who brings a problem-solving mindset and independent judgment.
