PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR - ELECTRICAL
Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under general supervision, performs nursing assistance and personal care services for patients with physical and/or mental impairments. Assistance typically includes physical care, activities of daily living, activity focused care, patient feeding, bathing, personal hygiene care, ambulation, transfer and repositioning of residents, dressing and elimination needs. Moves and transports residents. Performs treatment measures as directed by the nurse. Assists patient with range of motion exercises and exercises on pulleys and rollers and follow restorative nursing plan. Prepares and/or maintains daily flow sheet of nursing notes, records and reports. Completes assigned documentation. Observes and reports changes in patient behavior and/or physical appearance to nurse. Inspects and observes assigned residents during work shift; ensures resident comfort, safety and provides necessary care. Assists physician and/or nurse by steadying and positioning patients for treatments. Uses knowledge and skills for effective infection control practices inclusive of isolation techniques and procedures, standard precautions, skin care, handwashing and disinfection procedures. Performs routine cleaning of patient units, including changing bed linens, cleaning beds and wheelchairs, cleaning patient care equipment and maintaining general sanitation of all nursing areas. Keeps inventory of residents’ clothing and belongings.
Minimum Requirements
Requires successful completion of the 120 hour Illinois Dept. of Public Health approved Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program as evidenced by a certificate embossed as an approved educational program by IDPH or the equivalent as determined by IDPH and evidenced by a letter verifying current inclusion on the Assistant Nurse Registry maintained by the IDPH.
