About the role
The School of Planning, Policy, and Environmental Studies at San José State University seeks part-time lecturer instructional positions to teach lower and upper division courses.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a diverse student population.
- Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
- Teach courses in Environmental Studies and Global Studies.
- Offer and meet classes as scheduled throughout the semester.
Requirements
- At least an M.S./M.A. in Environmental Science/Studies, Planning, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
- University-level teaching experience is preferred.
- Professional experience, in addition to the master’s degree, will also be considered.
- Ability to organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
Qualifications
- Well-organized and energetic.
- Able to provide a supportive learning experience to a diversity of students.
- Experience with Canvas Learning Management System.
Skills
- Ability to teach a variety of courses in Environmental Studies and Global Studies.
- Experience with diverse student populations.

- Ranges are the anticipated monthly salary rate of full-time AY faculty—part-time rates are prorated.
