Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for capacity management within a defined planning center operating area.
- Oversee market growth in conjunction with LOB and ensure customer expectations are met.
- Provide leadership and identify development opportunities for planning personnel.
- Oversee designated group of planners.
- Achieve adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Routinely review plans and provide appropriate feedback/coaching to planner.
- Train planners on how to review and analyze customer bids and ensure planners know current capacity.
- Proactively review current capacity and coordinate network needs/opportunities with other Planning Leaders/Planning Centers to identify capacity repositioning opportunities and determine optimal utilization of planners.
- Determine customer priority, then direct and execute planning accordingly.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience as planner in transportation industry required.
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Must be able to lead, develop and coach others.
- Must be able to effectively transfer knowledge to others.
- Must be able to understand financial reports.
- Must be able to effectively utilize available technologies (Micromap, Tableau, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
