Job Description
The Planning/Layout/Design Specialist is involved in the planning, layout, design, coordination and pre-fabrication on projects. This person has a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and quality construction work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains regular contact with project personnel as well as professional relationships with designers, owners, and subcontractors
- Outlines job specifications and reviews material submittals for project requirements
- Supports preconstruction, pre-fabrication and construction teams with electrical/systems/ construction related issues
- Aids in the creation of detailed bill of materials
- Edits field personnel on layout/design processes and supports project efforts
- Creates detailed layout drawings while adhering to company standards
- Sets up ways to infuse quality and labor savings into overall layout efforts
- Communicate ideas for continuous improvement in standards and workflows
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Required: Experience with team collaboration
- Proficient in reading and understanding of all forms of construction documents
- Ability to interpret 2D plans and provide input to a 3D model
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and efficiently use software such as BIM360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Navisworks, Revit, and file sharing platforms

Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential job functions in a variety of work environments, including office and/or active job site settings

- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance consistent with company policy and operational needs
