Planning Engineer II
About the role
The Planning Engineer II role supports network growth and new service implementations by applying established technologies and architectures. This position involves planning new plant construction or facility modifications, preparing plans and specifications, and overseeing project expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and define plans for new plant construction or facility modifications
- Prepare plans and specifications, including field data collection
- Ensure practical and economical methods are used to complete projects
- Provide cost data to support capital planning and budgeting
- Maintain and control project expenditures
- Oversee installation, construction, and testing of plant facilities
- Analyze network systems and customer environments for design and configuration
- Resolve interoperability issues across platforms
- Configure systems to meet user environments
- Support hardware, software acquisition, and subcontractor services as needed
- Work under direction with guidance on tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Effective prioritization and time management
- Strong data and economic analysis skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven project management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, and SQL
- Positive and professional demeanor
Preferred
- Master’s degree with 2+ years related experience
- Engineering experience with business/financial focus
Pay
$66,375 - $88,500 in AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY
$69,694 - $92,925 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI
$73,013 - $97,350 in AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA
