Planning Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Director to lead our Planning Department and guide the community's growth through current and long-range planning, zoning administration, land development review, and staff leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Planning Department in guiding the community's growth through current and long-range planning, zoning administration, land development review, and staff leadership.
• Supervise and mentor staff members, ensuring they meet departmental goals and objectives.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the city's planning initiatives.
• Oversee the review and approval of land development applications to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and other applicable laws.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to address community needs and promote sustainable development practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in planning or a related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible planning experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• AICP certification is preferred.
