About the role
We are seeking an experienced Planning Director to lead our Planning Department and guide the community's growth through current and long-range planning, zoning administration, land development review, and staff leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Planning Department in guiding the community's growth through current and long-range planning, zoning administration, land development review, and staff leadership.
- Supervise and mentor staff members, ensuring they meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the city's planning initiatives.
- Oversee the review and approval of land development applications to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and other applicable laws.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to address community needs and promote sustainable development practices.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in planning or a related field.
- At least five years of progressively responsible planning experience with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- AICP certification is preferred.
