Planning and Scheduling Manager

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Planning and Scheduling Manager in our Power Delivery Group. This role involves interacting with a variety of staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, requiring flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism.

About the role

The Planning and Scheduling Manager will perform non-routine planning and scheduling assignments, applying complex scheduling principles and techniques to highly complex projects. This includes leadership, coordination of team members, and implementation of scheduling strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate site teams and trade partners in developing project schedules using CPM scheduling programs on large, complex, or multiple projects.
• Support group leadership by monitoring and updating project schedules on multiple or larger projects.
• Generate mitigation options and assist site management in formulating plans to correct scheduling problems.
• Coach, mentor, and train other team members in scheduling methods.
• Collaborate with Business Development on proposals, including leading project pursuit strategy regarding project schedules.
• Support the roll-out of company-wide training plans.
• Participate in corporate planning and scheduling improvement initiatives and best practice sharing.
• Build and maintain relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of construction experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software.
• Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices, project sequencing, and installation methods.
• Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in anticipating, identifying, and solving unprecedented problems on complex projects.
• Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills, with the ability to identify concerns in document review.
• Knowledge of project management, buyout, and contracts.
• Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies.
• Strong organization, delegation, and team management skills.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience for both external and internal customers.
• Basic understanding of project estimates to assist with schedule development, cost loading, and resource loading.
• Ability to interpret and implement customer scheduling specifications and contract requirements.
• Ability to quickly understand complex projects at the proposal stage, developing strong project schedule strategies based on anticipated challenges.

• Results-oriented with a focus on delivering accurate, complete, and timely products and services.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $116,900 - $175,400. Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL (+5%), Seattle, WA and Portland, OR (+10%), Washington, D.C. (+12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
