About the role

Taylor Corporation is seeking a Planning and Materials Manager to join their team in Hutchins, TX. This role oversees purchasing, inventory control, and production scheduling to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, purchasing, storage, and distribution of materials and inventory.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess stock.
  • Cook up coordination with procurement, production, warehouse, and logistics teams to support operations.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and material usage to support production schedules.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the manufacturing schedule, ensuring plans are built to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and material handling standards.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste and costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting within ERP/MRP inventory systems.
  • Lead and supervise materials and warehouse staff to ensure productivity and operational success.
  • Lead the onboarding of new projects and products while providing leadership and direction to the pre-press team to support successful execution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in the field.
  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse software.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work full line of Microsoft office software including creating excel spreadsheet.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Personal computer skills.
  • To work with internal and external partners.
  • Bachelor's Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a print/direct mail environment.
