About the Role

The Department of Planning and Development is seeking a Communications Intern for the Fall 2026 Semester. This role offers an opportunity to work on impactful projects in a vibrant city environment, contributing to public relations, marketing, branding, and advertising initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Social media management
  • Drafting press releases
  • Graphic design
  • Creating presentations
  • Photography
  • Developing talking points
  • Blog writing
  • Writing for web and "how to" instructions
  • Creating videos
  • Editing and proofreading
  • Assisting in event planning
  • Collateral creation
  • Attending public and press events

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Public Affairs, or Public Relations
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Creativity and ability to attend events in person

Schedule

Up to 20 hours per week, in-person.

Pay

$17.62 per hour.

Additional Information
