Planning Analyst - New Ulm, MN*

About the role

The Planning Analyst position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world, planning and scheduling production work centers, monitoring output, and improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Tap into your curiosity and collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.
• Plan and schedule production work centers.
• Monitor work center output to meet customer requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers on future requirements to support production plans.
• Work closely with the business to understand customer requirements and forecasts.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team, value stream leadership, and Supply Planners to resolve supply constraints and balance service, inventory, and cost.
• Manage capacity, identify, resolve, and escalate production constraints.
• Manage assigned working and non-working inventories to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets.
• Execute production planning standard work using supply chain tools, IT systems, and processes.
• Provide planning analysis to support data-driven decision making.
• Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement projects to enhance customer service, inventory investment, flow, and supply chain efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) or actively pursuing one and within one year of graduation.
• Two (2) years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• 3M systems experience (Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, Peoplesoft).
• Experience in Production Planning.
• Knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
• Strong data mining, data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Suite experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) or actively pursuing one and within one year of graduation.
• Additional qualifications that could help include: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, and/or Business Analytics, from an accredited institution; two (2) years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government, or military environment; 3M systems experience (Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, Peoplesoft); experience in Production Planning; knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes; strong data mining, data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; advanced Microsoft Suite experience; strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills; experience working on cross-functional teams; experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $74,644 - $91,231, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. The position is typically full-time with occasional travel up to 5% domestically or internationally.
