About the role
The main function of a business operations specialist is to maintain vendor relationships, acting as a business analyst for non-IT projects or filling organizational roles above an administrative level, but below a management level. Other responsibilities may include maintaining all project management processes, including project goals, deadlines, metrics, and budget. The business operations specialist usually reports to a project manager or director.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on to build sales forecasting using several variables (Traffic, Seasonality, multiple promos etc.)
- Develop weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecast for both quantity and revenue
- Conduct promotional analysis for attribution, elasticity, and ROI/financial analysis
- Build a playbook to use promotional lift and recommend promos to achieve goals
- Develop monthly/quarterly targets and distribute the targets to various categories/channels and traffic drivers for Ecommerce
- Support supply chain team/process on forecast and demand/supply alignment
- Deep understanding of mobile promotions, sales, and channel actions
- Review and approve contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements
- Approve project and work breakdown structures
- Review and approve the documentation of business processes
- Approve project budgets and expenditures, monitor transaction controls and costs against budgets
- Predict potential budget overruns and offer solutions
- Consult with corporate offices, project managers, auditors, client, and sub-consultant representatives regarding future proposals
- Prepare sub-agreements and review and input sub-consultant invoices to ensure contract compliance
- Create presentations with compelling data-driven stories to share with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations
- Work with Category Management, Finance, and Operations team to define and work on gap closures
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in Ecommerce business planning, category management, and/or data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on quantitative analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics or in math/analytics/engineering is required
- MBA would be a plus
- Knowledge of supply chain management, PSI management, and supply planning is required
- Experience of working with Telecom, Technology, Consumer Electronics, and/or Retail industry is strongly preferred
- 10 years experience required
Skills
- Hands-on with advanced Excel with attention to detail to integrate complex data to build forecasting and perform analysis
- Knowledge of ML/AI models for forecasting, pricing, and promotional analytics for business analytics will be a plus
- Experience of writing code for ML in Python and building agents will be a plus
- Experience with financial analysis to build business cases and create P&L analysis
- Creative thinker with excellent business acumen, analytical skills, and experience with statistical modeling
- High level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, and executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic, and proactive organization
- Adaptability, using advanced preparation to quickly pivot throughout the week
- Exceptional presentation skills with good Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time
- Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
- Expert ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed
- Expert ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel; Enterprise Application experience a plus
Pay
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $69.00 - $69.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
