About the role
This Planner Scheduler role, based in Dallas, TX, supports materials and production functions by planning, scheduling, coordinating, and approving product release to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
Responsibilities
- Check order fulfillment feasibility based on available resources (materials, employees, equipment) and confirm orders.
- Prepare production plans, input planning data into the company’s integrated computer system, and notify the purchasing group.
- Monitor and control plan implementation, taking necessary actions in case of deviations.
- Prepare long-term plans and forecasts (MPS, Forecast).
- Monitor system accuracy (daily/weekly) for general item data, routing, BOM, CFT data, non-consumed demand, and planned work orders.
- Prepare "Clean to Build" reports, check material availability, replan if necessary, and inform the order desk; trace ECO implementation.
- Monitor stock levels and handle stock differences.
- Prepare management and CFT-specific reports, monitor KPIs.
- Assist and replace SCM and Order Desk within the CFT as needed.
- Advise non-exempt associates on day-to-day priorities for customer requests.
- Proactively monitor and address issues impacting performance to committed ship date (CSD), lead-time, response time, and inventory goals.
- Coordinate and manage high-visibility and/or important customer programs, including initial customer or product startup initiatives or large customer programs.
- Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to manage product life cycle and related materials availability issues.
- Drive process improvements inside and outside Order Management.
- Provide input to management, reschedule, and/or interface with customer program management, master scheduling, customers, and production control to reschedule production in the event of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
- Represent Order Management on various Customer Focus Teams.
- Assist with inventory control, supply chain management, material planning, and scheduling as needed.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
- Demonstrates operations and technical skills and comprehension of Flex’s functional standards.
- General knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary comprehension of Flex policies and procedures.
- Awareness of the functional impact on work processes and other functions.
- Proficiency in data entry, office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems).
