Planner, Journeyman - TS/SCI
OBXtek is filling a Planner (Journeyman) position on the Staffing and Technical Acquisition Services Support II (STAQSS II) contract for the Headquarters Air Force (HAF) to support the SAF/AQT (Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Technology, Engineering, & Product Support) Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) at Joint Base Andrews, MD, and Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon. SAF/AQT provides oversight and guidance across the acquisition lifecycle, advancing military unique science and technology, capability development, and product support. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) provides the Department of the Air Force (DAF) with independent advice on Science and Technology (S&T) relating to the DAF mission, reporting directly to the Secretary of the Air Force.
About the role
This position is a blend of onsite work 5 days per week (Joint Base Andrews and Pentagon) with some hybrid weeks. The role involves handling confidential and classified (Secret/TS-SCI) information, correspondence, and communications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, track, and report travel arrangements for meeting and/or conference attendees.
- Develop trip books and agendas for meetings as needed.
- Compile read-ahead materials.
- Identify and schedule briefers.
- Assist with the processing of travel vouchers in DTS.
- Coordinate meeting and/or conference logistics, including travel itineraries, transportation, and food.
- Inform guest speakers of potential discussion topics.
- Engage attendees and external stakeholders on travel-related items.
- Track and report attendee’s travel order status, travel voucher status, meeting, and attendee status.
- Develop meeting and/or conference registration information.
- Develop metrics, track performance, periodically report performance metrics, and make improvement recommendations.
- Participate in special projects and perform other necessary duties in support of SAF/AQ.
- Perform any other tasks closely associated with the duties listed above.
Requirements
- Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- At least 3 years of DoD conference planning experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of Joint Federal Travel Regulation (JFTR) and Privacy Act regulations.
- Ability to travel (CONUS) 1 to 2 times per quarter.
- Proficiency in computer-based communication/office IT tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, TEAMS) and Adobe (Reader and Pro).
- Ability to learn software packages used by the DAF.
- Public speaking skills, capable of delivering briefs, speaking in meetings (in-person and online), and giving presentations.
Work Experience Substitutions: 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a BA/BS degree. An Associate degree plus 4 years of relevant work experience may also be substituted.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or traverse throughout a large, secure facility and between multiple work areas.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
Secret clearance required.
