Planned Gifts Director

Job Summary

Identifies, cultivates, closes and stewards planned and estate gift commitments to grow the organization’s long-term endowment and strengthen the major-gift pipeline. Focuses exclusively on planned/estate gifts while collaborating with Annual Fund, Major Gifts colleagues, Thompson & Associates and external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential donors through research and networking
• Cultivate relationships with donors to build trust and understanding
• Closely collaborate with Annual Fund and Major Gifts colleagues to align strategies
• Work with Thompson & Associates and external advisors to develop and execute gift plans
• Steward existing planned/estate gift relationships to ensure donor satisfaction and commitment
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in planned giving
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with donor management software is a plus

• Proven ability to cultivate and close high-value planned/estate gifts
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
