About the role
Help Maine's public employees make the most of their retirement benefits. MainePERS is seeking a Plan Administration Associate to support the administration of our Defined Benefit (DB), Deferred Compensation, and Defined Contribution (DC) Programs, including the PLD and MaineSTART Plans.
Responsibilities
- Research and respond to member and employer inquiries regarding plan provisions, participation, eligibility, and distributions.
- Determine eligibility for plan participation and distributions and process rollovers and other plan transactions.
- Review and maintain plan documentation to ensure it is accurate, complete, compliant, and properly recorded.
- Serve as a resource to staff, members, and employers by interpreting plan provisions and providing accurate information.
- Maintain daily plan administration operations in the absence of the Plan Administrator.
- Prepare documentation and materials for current and prospective PLD employers.
- Cook up employer and member meetings for the Plan Administrator, ensuring information and materials are prepared in advance.
- Represent MainePERS at benefit fairs, conferences, and other outreach events.
- Use system software and related tools to complete work accurately, efficiently, and within established timeframes.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience that demonstrates excellent customer service, research, and analysis, computational, computer skills and the ability to work under limited supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Ability to travel within the state; valid driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.
- Preferred qualifications: Post-secondary degree plus two (2) years related work experience.
Pay
Begins at $53,580 if annualized.
