Plaintiff Personal Injury Associate Attorney

About the role

We're working with a growing plaintiff-side personal injury firm in Santa Ana seeking a Plaintiff Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This is an opportunity for a California-licensed attorney who wants meaningful hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to take real ownership of cases. You'll work directly with experienced attorneys and gain exposure to every stage of plaintiff personal injury litigation, including case development, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Handle and assist with plaintiff personal injury matters from litigation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Propound and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy.
• Prepare for mediations, hearings, and settlement conferences.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurance carriers.
• Assist with trial preparation.
• Take increasing ownership of cases as experience and performance develop.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• 1+ years of litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Experience with discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to take ownership of assignments and work with increasing independence.
• Interest in building a long-term career in plaintiff-side litigation.

Preferred background includes experience in any of the following:

• Plaintiff personal injury
• Plaintiff-side civil litigation
• General civil litigation
• Insurance defense
• General liability
• Litigation associate experience
• Judicial externship or clerkship
• Other hands-on civil litigation experience

Pay

Base Salary: $120,000-$160,000 + Bonus – compensation will depend on experience and overall qualifications.

Schedule

Onsite in Santa Ana during onboarding; hybrid schedule available after successful onboarding.
