LegalFull-time

Salary Range: $150,000 base salary + uncapped quarterly bonus potential

About the role

A growing plaintiff-side personal injury practice is hiring an experienced Associate Attorney to manage a sophisticated caseload spanning pre-litigation and active litigation. You will take ownership of personal injury matters through investigation, medical development, demands, negotiations, discovery, motions, and trial preparation while working with an established network of paralegals and specialized support teams. The right attorney is hungry to win, comfortable making decisions, and capable of moving a case forward when the path is not obvious. This team values attorneys who think critically, communicate exceptionally well with clients and colleagues, and bring both independence and collaboration to their work.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of approximately 75–100 plaintiff personal injury matters with a mix of pre-litigation and active litigation
  • Develop cases involving automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability, falls, and other personal injury claims
  • Lead investigation, medical development, demand preparation, negotiation, discovery, and motion practice
  • Draft and argue motions, prepare pleadings and discovery, and manage critical filing, service, and statute of limitations deadlines
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel from initial demand through settlement or litigation
  • Prepare matters for mediation, settlement, and trial while developing the evidence and strategy necessary to maximize client outcomes
  • Partner with paralegals, attorneys, and dedicated medical records, lien resolution, client service, and administrative teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of personal injury law experience with plaintiff-side experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both pre-litigation and litigated personal injury files
  • Experience independently working cases through investigation, medical development, demands, negotiations, discovery, and motions
  • Strong trial preparation experience with exposure to cases progressing through the trial stage
  • Admission to the New York and Connecticut bars strongly preferred, with standout single-state candidates considered
  • Proven negotiation skills combined with strong organization, judgment, and client-facing communication
  • Tech-forward approach with experience using legal CRM or case management platforms, ideally Litify

Benefits

  • Uncapped performance bonus equal to 5% of collected attorney fees and paid quarterly
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits with a generous employer contribution toward medical coverage
  • 401(k) plan with discretionary employer match following the eligibility period
  • 15 days of accrued vacation in the first year with an increase to 20 days beginning in year three
  • 3 paid sick days plus 10 paid holidays
