PK Scheduler

Job Summary

The PK Scheduler operates as the central scheduler for the Metabolism department, assessing available resources in response to scheduling requests for all studies in Animal Operations for all species in PK Studies.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicates and interacts with other Metabolism groups and individuals.
• Interprets PK study designs for pertinent requirements.
• Evaluates and understands workload and staffing resources for each Supervisor team.
• Has a basic understanding of various study types, including PK work, and can answer questions related to capabilities for proposals.
• Evaluates and responds to scheduling requests for all species across groups.
• Works closely with Animal Operations management, Resource Management, and Business Operations teams to maximize study starts.
• Manages and distributes scheduling change requests.
• Understands and interprets complex protocols for feasibility and provides feedback.
• Proactively addresses potential scheduling conflicts.
• Works with supervisors and managers to address scheduling change requests.
• Works with Resource Management to develop and continually update metrics/tools to allow the business to forecast workload and staff needs, as well as evaluate productivity.
• Tracks and accurately reports inventory to Finance monthly.
• Maintains stock animal database.
• Works with Finance to ensure primate inventory is accurate and complete monthly.
• Utilizes the stock database to ensure resources are being utilized effectively.
• Utilizes computer software to monitor database inventories.
• Effectively manages own time and deadlines.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Familiarity with new techniques developed within Animal Operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science
• 4 or more years of experience working within a laboratory setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science
• 2 or more years of experience with client contact and scheduling

Additional Job Standards

• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Excel & Word)
