Responsibilities

• Willingness to learn how to make homemade pastas and bread daily
• Interest in learning wood-fire grill and oven cooking techniques
• Interest in performing whole animal butchery techniques
• Accurately and efficiently prepare high-quality cuisine, adhering to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served
• Follow all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation
• Stock and maintain sufficient food levels at line stations for smooth service
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, including grills, fryers, ovens, and refrigeration equipment
• Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, or sautéing by portioning, battering, breading, and seasoning
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setups
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods
• Close the kitchen properly using the closing checklist and assist others in closing
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and line cook roles
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
• Basic food cost knowledge
• Understanding of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to speak, read, and understand basic cooking directions
• Clear communication with managers, kitchen, and restaurant staff
