Pittsburgh Junior to Midlevel Private Wealth Associate
K&L Gates is seeking a junior to midlevel associate to join its growing private wealth practice, which encompasses estate and tax planning for high-net-worth families, servicing family offices, and business succession planning for family businesses.
About the role
The position will include complex document drafting (wills, trust agreements, settlement agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.), estate and trust administration, legal and tax research, transfer tax return preparation, project management, and direct client contact. Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact.
Responsibilities
- Draft complex documents (wills, trust agreements, settlement agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.)
- Estate and trust administration
- Legal and tax research
- Transfer tax return preparation
- Project management
- Direct client contact and relationship management
Requirements
- Two to five years of experience in estate and tax planning, family offices, or business succession planning
- Sophisticated written and oral communication skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with oversight over multiple projects
- Ability to manage and grow client relationships
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or South Carolina (or eligible to waive into the bar of any such state)
- Openness to licensure in Florida
- Strong academic credentials
- Commitment to providing the highest quality client service
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay
Base compensation: $210,000 - $330,000 per year. The salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
