Pittsburgh Junior to Midlevel Private Wealth Associate

About the Role

K&L Gates is seeking a junior to midlevel associate to join its growing private wealth practice, which encompasses estate and tax planning for high-net-worth families, servicing family offices, and business succession planning for family businesses. The position will include complex document drafting (wills, trust agreements, settlement agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.), estate and trust administration, legal and tax research, transfer tax return preparation, project management, and direct client contact.

The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience in these areas and be open to placement in the Pittsburgh or Charlotte office.

Responsibilities

• Draft complex legal documents (wills, trust agreements, settlement agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.)

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or South Carolina (or eligible to waive into the bar of any such state)
• Openness to licensure in Florida
• Two to five years of experience in estate and tax planning, family office services, or business succession planning
• Sophisticated written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with oversight over multiple projects
• Strong academic credentials
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

Base compensation: $210,000 - $330,000 per year. The final salary will be determined during the interview process based on prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
