Responsibilities
- Anchor coverage of the Pittsburgh dining scene
- Create engaging, informative content for vertical video and social media platforms
- Develop high-interest "best of" lists
- Identify and cover emerging trends and hidden gems in the region's dining landscape
- Work independently under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately
- Build, maintain, and engage an active audience
- Source, report, and break news on a busy local food scene
- Write clean, conversational copy that keeps readers engaged from start to finish
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing
- Proven ability to source, report, and break news on a busy local food scene
- Strong news judgment, sharp writing skills, and a solid grasp of digital storytelling
- Comfort working across written, visual, and audio platforms
Qualifications
- Passion for food and a keen understanding of what readers, viewers, and listeners want to know right now
- Experience building, maintaining, and engaging an active audience
- Reliable transportation to meet with sources or cover events

Pay
$50,000 - $55,000 per year
